  1. Anytime I hear about funding cuts to PBS, I think of Fred Rogers and his testimony to the Senate. The impact and the importance of PBS and public broadcasting has for millions of Americans is really tremendous https://youtu.be/fKy7ljRr0AA

  2. “Who cares, they should be getting their news from Fox News and Sinclair Broadcasting anyways”

    – The FCC, probably

  3. I bet she’s right…as someone who lives in a relatively rural area, I can personally testify that plenty of people don’t have cable and just have dtv boxes or something like that, which (depending on the area you’re in) have like 9 channels, one of them being PBS. People in rural areas watch PBS cause many of them are at least relatively poor (I know that’s vague), and no one with a good head on their shoulders in terms of money usage is going to pay for cable when food and clothes and transportation, etc. are much more relevant problems for them.

  4. Paula Kerger earns over $630,000/year at PBS, and the entire upper management has equally absurd wages. In the private business world, you can get whatever a corporation is willing to pay you, and if they wont pay the wage you want, their competition might.

I have to ask, what is PBS’s competition?

  5. Must be that time of year again…..

I am old, and I can’t remember any time in my life when PBS wasn’t crying that Congress is going to cancel funding for PBS.

The first Bush, Clinton, the 2nd Bush, Obama – Trump. I can’t remember a time when this wasn’t something being threatened by PBS.

You would almost think it had something to do with private fundraising….
