  1. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with the setting given that Cabrini-Green isn’t around anymore.

  2. I live near there. The church is still there but the rest of Cabrini Green is long gone. Ironically, one of the things there is now a Target store.

  3. Didn’t he help produce BlackKKlansman?

I’m all for him helping Jason Blum produce low budget horror

  4. I hope this is good because everything Peele has done after Get Out has been very underwhelming. Don’t get me started on that awful Twilight Zone reboot.

  5. My favorite part of Candyman is Tony Todd. He has one of the greatest voices, he’s in the latest Layers of Fear game and knocks it outta the park.

I met him at a convention and his hands are disarmingly soft. Overall nice guy, 9/10 – points docked for not being an actual living apiary at the height of the honeybee crisis.

  6. Let’s hope it’s more like get out than Us. I really didn’t enjoy Us the writing was a mess

  7. Nope. Fuck nope. That is one movie I had to literally leave the room and refused look in the mirror for months as a kid I was so f**king terrified

  8. >The film is a spiritual sequel, and will return to the neighborhood where the legend began: the now-gentrified section of Chicago where the Cabrini-Green housing projects once stood.

With Tony Todd set to make an appearance, I wonder if they’ll go the route of the original short story and only have Candyman briefly appeared in the movie.

  9. I’m not sure I will watch this. The movies are f**ked up and the stories are twisted. I’m still tryna figure out does he actually exist or is he a f**king legend that drives ppl mad and they end up killing ppl in his name thus feeding his legacy Idk. As a black kid it’s something we grew up watching lol. We would play around with saying this and Bloody Mary in the mirror.

  10. This is the first I’m hearing that Peele isn’t actually directing this. I gotta say I’m slightly less excited now. Though at least he’s writing too.
