What are some of your favourite movie scenes and why? 4

The link above is a playlist of some of my favourite scenes from both movies and tv shows that I have seen. I have more in different playlists, but this is an overall one that I mainly tend to. I actually find this really enjoyable. Seeing a scene that I absolutely love in a movie or tv show then finding it and adding it to this playlist (I refer to this as my baby). I randomly go back and watch some of these all the time.

Im interested in seeing some you guys have to suggest, I can possibly add them to my playlist.

Provide links if you can!

  1. “WHAT’S IN THE BOX????”

I’ve seen this movie so many times and this scene still puts me on the edge of my seat.

  2. The chestburster scene in ALIEN.

There’s no music, nothing to comfort the senses and ease the nerves. You’re completely reliant upon the reactions of the crew to what’s happening to Kane. You have no idea what’s really happening since all you have are panicked faces and a thrashing screaming guy.

And then comes that first punch of the alien against Kane’s chest. Even then you still don’t fully get what’s happening and you see that reflected in the confusion on the crew’s faces. This moment in the film is so engaging it draws you in and for a bit you forget it’s a movie.

Then *it* erupts from Kane’s chest. Blood everywhere and the look of pure horror on every face in the room as that *thing* rises out the hole in the man’s chest. One screeching cry later and you look like the rest of them; gaping in disbelief at what just happened.

    Fucking perfect scene.

  3. The bank robbery in Heat just so much tension and the film score during it just elevates it to 11. Also the helicopter rescue scene Superman the Movie, the world gets introduced to Superman and still get goosebumps all these years later. Christopher Reeve so good as Clark and Superman

  4. Interstellar docking sequence and black hole sequence (as he’s going in). Masterfully crafted pieces of imagery and sound.

  5. Bank robbery scene at the begining of The Dark Knight.

Alan Grant seeing the dinosaurs for the first time in Jurassic Park.

Luke looking out at the twin sun of Tattoine in Star Wars.

Tears in the rain speech at the end of Blade Runner.

  6. The scene in Jaws that begins with Brody chumming. Bruce appears. Brody says “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”

Great writing and acting. We continue to get to know the characters. Brilliant direction. Very intense action. Williams composed the perfect music to accompany the unforgettable images that Spielberg put on the screen. This is also my favorite piece of music from the soundtrack.

  7. Off the top of my head, two of my favourites are the peep show scene in Paris Texas, and the Michael Shannon scene in Revolutionary Road (if you’ve seen the movie, you know which one).

  8. I like the lunar striptease sequence in The Moon (1994). David Bowie’s direction of Samuel Racqwell is truly mysterious. It’s simultaneously erotic, hypnotic, horrific, and comedic.

  9. The scene in Sleeping Beauty when the good faeries make the dress and cake and clean the cottage with magic. It’s paired SO well with the music.

  10. The Wolf of Wall Street

Maybe the hardest I have ever laughed in a movie. The Cerebral Palsy stage kills me every time. The fact that 7 stairs seem like 20 is so funny. Leonardo DiCaprio really impressed me with his comedy chops in this movie.

Me and Earl and The Dying Girl – Small Talk

Smaller moment in the movie. Jon Bernthal just crushes it in a smaller role playing the teacher. He’s giving this small talk to the main character at a more serious part and it just kinda hit me for some reason. He plays the teacher I wish I had in High School lol.

The Matrix – Morpheous explains what The Matrix is

I love the dialog between Keanu Reeves and Lawrence Fishborne. And that music, fuck yes.

    Fight Club – The ending

You met me at a very strange time in my life… *cue Where Is My Mind?*. Enough said.

Drive – You wanna see something?

My favorite scene in my favorite movie. The song cue is perfect. It really is one of the few moments of levity in the movie. Ryan Gosling is A Real Human Bean and A Real Hero.

For the last 3, the music plays a huge part into it.
